The Last Steamship: The Search for the SS City of Medicine Hat is a co-production between three Saskatchewan-based filmmakers.
Leanne Schinkel (Director)
Independent media artist and filmmaker Leanne Schinkel holds a degree in Media Production at the University of Regina and has won awards for both her experimental filmmaking and photography. She has received training in the United Kingdom at York St. John University, and in Banff, AB at the Women in the Director’s Chair Workshop. She has created short films, broadcast documentaries, and social action presentations.

Nils Sorensen (Producer)
Nils Sorensen is an independent media artist and filmmaker based in Saskatchewan, Canada. He holds a degree in Fine Arts, Media Production & Studies from the University of Regina, where he received the University Prize in Fine Arts for his work. He has worked with various community organizations, artists, and filmmakers on projects ranging from feature films to gallery installations to short films and broadcast documentaries.
Corby Evenson (Editor)
Corby Evenson is an independent filmmaker and artist living in Regina Saskatchewan. Having received a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in Media Production & Studies from the University of Regina, Corby elected to stay in Saskatchewan to continue pursuing independent productions. He is an award winning filmmaker with varied production experience in both film and television.
